C.J. Rebel: A Lifetime Of Musical Transformation
C.J. is a versatile guitarist and songwriter whose musical journey began in 1982 at the age of 10. A self-taught musician, he formed his first band, Dark Age, and quickly became a pioneer of original rock music in the Cleveland scene, even earning a feature from the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 1985. By 1987, Dark Age was headlining across the Midwest and gaining national attention, including appearances on TV and in Hit Parader magazine.
In 1988, C.J. relocated to Los Angeles, where he formed the bands Hard Noxx and Brat Pack, playing iconic venues like Gazzarri’s, The Roxy and the Whisky a Go Go. In 1990, he founded REBEL, a primarily hard rock band that earned a loyal following on the Sunset Strip and released the album Los Angeles before disbanding in 1994.
Later in the 1990s saw C.J. experimenting with electronic music in The Cause and gaining recognition for his unique stage presence. He later formed Kill Process in the 2000s, releasing the industrial rock album Pollution For The Masses.
In the 2010s, C.J. shifted to an acoustic project, The Mourning Flowers, and more recently, he’s released instrumental works like Signals Through Static and Fragments #01, which showcase his passion for alternative electronica and rock guitar improvisation. His music is available worldwide on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
A member of AFM Local 47 and ASCAP, C.J. remains committed to creating and sharing his music with the world. supporting these organizations as a writer and publisher.
